Iceland has marketed itself as one of the great places in the Arctic to see the northern lights. You do need luck on your side to see them in Iceland though as the country is plagued by winter storms and very cloudy skies very often.
On those magical, clear nights however she can light up the sky as much as anywhere else. With endless, beautiful foregrounds to choose from to help give the photos greater impact, Iceland has certainly given aurora photographers some incredible opportunities.
My images are all from either Snaefellsnes Peninsula, including the famous Kirkjufell mountain in Grundarfjörður or the stunning and remote Westfjords which I have made my home in recent years.
